The LA Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has confirmed that their talisman players LeBron James and Anthony Davis will play for the team in the remaining two preseason games. The Lakers played without their main players in the first two matches and despite the absence of James and Davis, they won convincingly against LA Clippers, who were at their full strength.
The Lakers won the first match by 87-81 and thrashed the Clippers in the second match by 131-106. Horton Tucker was the pick of the players for the champions as he scored 19 points in the first game and scored 33 in the second.
In fact, the youngster was up against his former team but he was relentless as he scored 12 rebounds in the first match and followed it with 11 rebounds in the second.
Meanwhile, James and Davis will also look to hit the ground running for the Lakers in the third preseason game against Phoenix Suns, which will take place on December 17. Both the talisman will look to get the right practice under their belt before the season kickstarts in a week’s time.
“They’ve been participating heavily in practice and they’re going to sit these two first preseason games out and hopefully play in the final two preseason games,” Vogel said after the Lakers’ second game. “Play some in-game three and more in-game four to get as close as possible to a dress rehearsal for the regular season.”
On the other hand, it is well known that both James and Davis were instrumental in the success of their team in the last season and they will look to continue the same chemistry. James and Davis’ return will help the Lakers play at their full strength and they will look to find momentum. The NBA 2020:21 season will begin on December 22.
