There is no doubt that Michael Jordan was one of the most challenging opponents in the NBA. Jordan was known for his hunger on the court and gave his 120% every time he stepped on the court. The legendary Chicago Bulls player was known to take the bull by its horns and there was no room for complacency in his game.
In fact, Jordan was not only tough for his opponents but also he didn’t spare his own teammates if he felt that there was a lack of effort in the practice sessions. MJ always had a winning mentality and he gave his best for his team in any kind of situation.
Allen Iverson shared his experience of playing against Michael Jordan and revealed that the legendary player didn’t give an inch to the opposition.
Iverson said, “I was a Bulls fan coming up because of him. But while he was in the league, I hated the Bulls more than any team in the league. Once I got into the league and heard how they talked about us. I’ll never forget the first time I talked about it in my HOF speech. I wasn’t lying at all man, he didn’t look real to me, I was star-struck. I’m looking at his knee brace, his shin… they teased me before the game because they were like you’re not going to play your game because Mike is on the floor.”
On the other hand, Al Harrington also shared his experience of playing against Air Jordan. Harrington revealed that he was abused by Jordan.
“I actually had a good game, and he started talking and called everybody a #%@# Finally I got to a point, I know it’s Michael Jordan, but damn well keep, but he go keep calling me a h*e. I had to wear it. After that game went to overtime, I had 35 that game and he had 41 and they won the game. After the game, he signed some shoes and sent it to me… and I didn’t even ask for… So it was a surreal moment for me.”
Washington Wizards had won that game by 107-104 as Jordan played at the top of his game whereas Harrington’s efforts went in vain.
