LA Lakers talisman LeBron James has once again added another feather to his illustrious cap. James has now become the oldest player ever to post a 30-point triple-double. James came up with an exemplary performance as he dropped 30 points on 12-for-20 shooting, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and three blocks in 37 minutes against Orlando Magic on Sunday.
At 36 years and 346 days old, James has added another record to his bag. James replaced Bryant, who was 36 years, 99 days old when he registered 31 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists in a win over the Toronto Raptors in NBA 2014 season.
With such a brilliant performance from LeBron James, the LA Lakers won convincingly by 106-94 on Sunday against Orlando Magic. James revealed that he slept for almost 12 hours before bringing his best to the table for his team.
“I slept last night from 12 [a.m.] to 8 [a.m.], I got up, ate breakfast and went back to sleep from 8:30 [a.m.] to 12:30 [p.m.],” James said.
James has been a veteran for 19 years in the NBA and when he was asked how he plans to keep the same show going, he said, “Who me? How do I continue how I’m playing? Been doing it for 19 years,” he said. “Just do what I’ve been doing. I feel like I’m getting better and better each and every day. I’m getting healthier and healthier.”
At 36 years, there are always talks regarding managing James’ workload but he said that he doesn’t think much about it as it creeps negative thoughts in his mind.
“That’s just my mindset. Don’t get involved in how many minutes I played, how many days off,” James said. “I don’t confine to that. I think you think negative thoughts or negative energy, it just creeps into your mind. So, I’m as young as I’ve ever been.”
The LA Lakers will next face the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
