The LA Lakers clinched their 17th NBA title after defeating the Miami Heat in the finals by 4-2. The Lakers were on a roll as they dominated throughout the postseason after topping the standings in the Western conference. All of this was made possible by the efforts of legendary LeBron James, who played an instrumental role in taking the Lakers to glory.
James won his fourth NBA ring and he was also awarded the NBA finals MVP for the fourth time. Thus, the comparisons between former legend Michael Jordan and LeBron James have once again come to the fore.
Jordan is regarded as one of the best players in the history of Basketball whereas James is also right up there with the best in the business. Recently, the Last Dance was released by ESPN and it received praise from all corners of the sporting world.
James, like other players, has also grown up while watching Michael Jordan bamboozle the opposition with his moves. James saw Last Dance with his Lakers’ teammate Jared Dudley. Dudley revealed that the King has unmatched respect for Michael Jordan.
Dudley said while talking on Bill Simmons podcast, “I watched the Last Dance with Bron. LeBron’s a huge Jordan guy, we all know, we grew up watching him. The documentary, we watched it every Thursday, Saturday, we were watching it. The respect that LeBron has for Jordan is unmatched.”
On the other hand, Dudley was also asked whether James ever said that he was better than Jordan while watching the documentary. Dudley confirmed that the 35-year old never made such a comment.
“….No. I never heard him say a comment like that. He was just like ‘Michael’s a bad boy’, He loved the Rodman series…He just wants to be seen eye-to-eye”.
LeBron James was in the beast mode and he would look to carry on the same form in the next season of the NBA.
