The Miami Heat were able to stay afloat in the ongoing NBA finals as they won the thrilling Game five contest by 111-108, with their talisman Jimmy Butler top scoring for the team with 35 points. Butler had single handedly won the third game for his team as he had scored 40 points and once again he was in beast mode.
The series is now 3-2 in favour of the LA Lakers but Miami Heat came up with a brilliant show in the fifth game of the series. The Heat were ahead for most part of the game and the Lakers were playing catch up from the beginning.
On the other hand, LeBron James continued his sublime form going as he top scored with 40 points but his efforts went in vain.
Butler had an all-round match as the LA Lakers had no answers to his onslaught. The 31-year old scored 12 rebounds, provided 11 assists and made five steals to take the game away from the Lakers.
Butler stated that he is going to come hard against the LA Lakers in the sixth match and it doesn’t matter how they guard him.
In the post-game interview, Butler revealed, “Just stay aggressive. I don’t know what they’re gonna throw at me on a given night. Well, I think whatever you throw at me, it’s not gonna work cuz if I’m open, I’m gonna shoot it. If I’m not, I’m gonna pass it to Duncan [Robinson] or Tyler [Herro] or K-Nunn or Bam [Adebayo] or Jae [Crowder], and they’re gonna make the shot. So it’s only if we stay together and play Basketball our way, no matter how they guard me… [indiscernible].”
Jimmy Butler will look to continue the good show and he is going to hold the key for the Miami Heat. On the other hand, the LA Lakers will aim to finish off the series in the next match.
The sixth of the series will be played on Monday.
