Washington Wizards haven’t had a perfect start to the ongoing NBA 2020:21 season as they have lost both their matches. The team’s talisman Russell Westbrook has been the star in both the matches but his superman efforts have gone in vain. The 32-year old shot into limelight when he was awarded the MVP of the year in 2017.
The Wizards lost their second match of the season against Orlando Magic by 130-120. However, Russell Westbrook was the star of the show for the Washington Wizards. Westbrook came up with another triple double to write his name in the history books.
Russell Westbrook became the first player since Magic Johnson (LA Lakers) in 1982 to post a Triple-Double in his team’s first two games of the season.
Westbrook scored 11 rebounds and 15 assists in the first match against Philadelphia 76ers whereas he scored15 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists in the second match against the Magic. In fact, Westbrook became only the fourth player in NBA history to achieve this milestone.
Westbrook played at the top of his game and he will look to continue his good show. The point guard will aim to be instrumental in the success of his team.
On the other hand, Westbrook’s teammate Bradley Beal is also delivering the goods for the team. Beal scored 31 points in the first match against the 76ers and then posted 39 against the Magic but Wizards have fallen short on both occasions. Consequently, the Wizards will look to come up with a collective effort.
The Washington Wizards will next lock horns against Orlando Magic on 28th of December and they will look to get their maiden win of the season.
