NBA veteran LeBron James recently gave his two cents on the number of three points in the NBA. James said something had to change given the number of three-pointers attempted by the players after a new format for the All-Star game was released.
“It’s not just the All-Star Game. It’s our game in general,” James said. “There’s a lot of f—ing 3s being shot. So it’s a bigger conversation than just the All-Star Game.”
However, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has a different opinion and said he is going to keep trying to shoot three-pointers. Curry is regarded as one of the best three-point shooters in the game and he is known to be mostly on the money.
Curry said on NBA ESPN, “Everybody has their opinion. It’s not like I can do a 360 windmill, drive down that lane, and dunk on somebody. For me, I’m never gonna fight a 3-point shot. It’s just how I see the game. It’s how I’ve seen the game forever.”
“The cool part is, like, defenses adjust. And it just takes time for that to happen, so we’ll see how it goes. But I’mma keep shooting 3s. Don’t worry about that.”
Curry has the most three-pointers in NBA history with 3841. But the talisman was not at his best against the Indiana Pacers as he shot 2-13 from the field. The four-time NBA champion took the blame on his shoulders after 111-105 loss.
“Down the stretch … I missed two big shots, one to tie, one to take the lead,” Curry said. “Shots that I pride myself on. Gotta make those.”
Curry and James will be up against each other as the Warriors will face the Lakers on Christmas Day.
