Golden State Warriors have had a mixed start to the NBA 2020:21 season. The team has won three matches and have lost as many. Warriors rely heavily on the shoulders of their talisman player Stephen Curry, who is regarded as one of the best shooters in NBA history.
In fact, Curry has top scored for the Golden State Warriors in all the six matches of the season. Furthermore, the 32-year-old linchpin also leads the assists chart in five out of the six matches. Thus, it goes to show how much Warriors rely on their superstar for their success.
In their fifth match of the season, Warriors lost to Portland Trailblazers by 123-98. Curry scored 26 points but his efforts went in vain. However, come the sixth game against Portland Trailblazers, Curry was at his absolute best.
The talisman scored a stunning 62 points as he played at the top of his game and took his team to win by 137-122. Consequently, Curry has once again written his name in the history books as he became the oldest player at 32 years and 295 days to have a 60-point game.
Former LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant had a 60-point game back in 2016 when he was 37 years and 234 days old. Bryant is the oldest player to register 60 points in a game and interestingly it was also the last match of his career. Wilt Chamberlain scored 60 points back in 1969 when he was 32 years and 172 days old.
Curry would like to continue the good show in the coming matches as Warriors depend heavily on his shoulders. The Golden State Warriors will next face Sacramento Kings on the 5th of January.
