Washington Wizards’ talisman Bradley Beal has carried the team on his shoulders so far in the ongoing season. Beal has been the top-performer for his franchise but he hasn’t received much support from the rest of his teammates.
It hasn’t been an ideal start for the Washington Wizards as they have lost 13 matches in this season. The Wizards are currently placed at 14th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
However, the Wizards finally registered their fifth win of the season as they defeated previous edition runners-up Miami Heat by 103-100 on Thursday. The Heat have also had a poor start to the season as they have lost 14 matches out of the 21 they have played.
On Thursday, Bradley Beal was once again on a roll as he scored 32 points and not surprisingly top-scored for his team. He shot 11-23 from the field and 4-11 from three. In fact, Beal has top-scored for his franchise on 15 occasions out of the 17 matches he has played in this season.
Furthermore, the 27-year old has scored at least 25 points in all the 17 matches he has played. Consequently, Beal has leapfrogged former Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan record, who scored 25+ points in consecutive 16 matches in 1988-89. This is the longest streak since 1985.
Former legend Wilt Chamberlain holds the record of scoring at least 25+ points in whopping 180 matches.
Meanwhile, Bradley Beal will look to continue his sublime form as he has played at the top of his game. Beal is currently averaging 34.8 points per game this season and he has been in top form.
The Washington Wizards will next face the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.
