The International Cricket Council has revealed the 12 venues across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, which will hold a total of 57 ODI World Cup matches in 2027. The quadrennial tournament will run from October 4 to November 21.

South Africa and Zimbabwe had co-hosted the ODI World Cup back in 2003 whereas Namibia will co-host World Cup matches for the first time.

South Africa has been assigned eight venues, Zimbabwe have three while Namibia will have one venue for the ODI showpiece.

The ICC has also introduced a new format for the tournament. Team ranked 12th to 14th will play a Super Series to qualify for the main competition. The winner will join the other 11 teams and then 12 teams will be divided into groups of six teams each. Each team will play the others in its group once, with a total of 30 matches in the opening stage.

Subsequently, the top three teams from each group, along with the next best-placed team across the two groups, will advance to the Super 7 stage.

The Super 7 will feature 21 round-robin matches, and the top four teams will qualify for the semifinals. The top-ranked team will take on the fourth-ranked team in the semis, whereas the second and third-ranked teams will face each other in the second semifinal.
