Former Indian Test opener Aakash Chopra lavished praise on Gujarat Titans’ bowling after they secured a convincing 82-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, in the ongoing IPL 2026 on Tuesday.

After posting a competitive score of 168 runs on the board on a tricky wicket, GT bowlers were able to bowl out Sunrisers Hyderabad for a paltry score of 86 runs, and thus climbed to the top of the standings.

Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers as he returned with impressive figures of 3-28 in his quota of four overs. Furthermore, Jason Holder continued his good form, taking 3-20 in his four-over spell.

Prasidh Krishna bagged two wickets, whereas Mohammed Siraj and Rashid Khan took a wicket apiece.

“There is no better bowling unit than them. This bowling unit has taken the most wickets, if we talk about fast bowling. If they see their economy, it’s the second best, and if we see the balls per wicket, they are the best. So they are a very, very good unit, and it’s not one guy,” Chopra said on his YouTube Channel.

“They have Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada, Prasidh Krishna, Jason Holder, and Arshad Khan. They have used these five bowlers, and they have been absolutely mind-boggling. Holder’s inclusion has improved the bowling immensely. When he releases the ball from the third floor, it comes towards the head, and it’s extremely difficult for uncapped Indians to play that,” he added.

The renowned analyst praised GT’s opening duo of Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada for providing their team early breakthroughs in the Powerplay overs and thus hailed Shubman Gill’s captaincy for backing the duo for three overs apiece.

“Siraj and Rabada do the setup. They bowl three overs apiece and pick up wickets. They have done that job seven times. So, well done, Shubman Gill. You chose the attacking option seven times,” he observed.

Gujarat Titans will next take on Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Saturday.
