Ashes 2023: England vs Australia, 1st Test – Stats Preview

England will square off against Australia in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham from Friday. Both teams will be looking to draw first blood in the series and come up with a collective effort in the opening game of the series.

England has impressed with ‘Bazball’ and they will be looking to continue the same against Australia. On the other hand, Australia will aim to continue the winning impetus against England after winning the World Test Championship final against India.

Marnus Labuschagne has scored 3461 runs and requires 39 runs to get to the milestone of 3500 runs in the red-ball version.

Cameron Green needs another 28 runs to reach the 1000-run mark.

Australian skipper Pat Cummins needs 62 runs to get to the milestone of 1000 runs.

Harry Brook has smashed 818 runs in seven Test matches and he needs 182 runs to get to the landmark of 1000 runs.

Moeen Ali, who recently made a U-turn on his Test retirement, needs 86 runs to complete 3000 runs. The off-spinner also needs five wickets to reach 200 wickets.

England captain Ben Stokes needs six wickets to complete 200 scalps in Test cricket.

Jonny Bairstow is 18 runs away from completing the 5500-run mark.

James Anderson needs 15 wickets to become the first fast bowler to complete 700 Test wickets.

Stuart Broad requires 18 wickets to complete 600 Test wickets and he will become the second pacer after Anderson to reach the milestone.

Mark Wood needs 10 wickets to complete 100 wickets in Test cricket.
