Ashes 2023: England vs Australia, 5th Test – Dafanews Match Preview

From Thursday onwards, England will square off against Australia in the final Ashes Test at Kennington Oval, London. Australia was able to retain the Ashes after rain played killjoy as the fourth Test match at Old Trafford, Manchester ended in a stalemate.

In our match preview, we look at the current form, head-to-head, players to look out for, and squads of both teams.

Current form for Australia: D L W W W

Australia could only manage 317 runs in the first innings on a batting-friendly pitch at Old Trafford, Manchester and they will be looking to come up with a better batting show. However, Marnus Labuschagne (51 and 111) getting back to form is a positive for the visitors.

Current form for England: D W L L W

England dominated with the bat in the fourth Test match after the foundation was laid down by Zak Crawley, who scored a brilliant knock of 189 runs. The home team will look to continue their domination and level the series at Kennington Oval, London.

Head to Head: Matches: 360, Won by England: 111, Won by Australia: 152, Drawn: 97.

Players to look out for: Pat Cummins, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head, and Todd Murphy will be the crucial players for Australia.

Ben Duckett, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Mark Wood, Stuart Broad and Harry Brook will be the main players for England.
