India will lock horns against Bangladesh in the last match of the Super Fours stage at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Friday. It will be a dead rubber contest as India has already qualified for the finals whereas Bangladesh has been knocked out.
India will look to test their bench strength and the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Mohammad Shami, Shardul Thakur, and Axar Patel could be given their chances. Thus, they can give breaks to key players like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.
India was challenged by spin in their last match against Sri Lanka and they will aim to come up with a better batting show as they could only manage 213 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul have made a fantastic return to action after recovering from their respective injuries and the team will be hopeful that Shreyas Iyer also grabs his chance with both hands.
On the other hand, Bangladesh has been let down by their batting and they will look to come up with a collective show. The likes of Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Towhid Hridoy have done a decent job but experienced campaigners like Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim will have to put their hand up with the bat.
