Brahmaputra Boys will lock horns against Dihing Patkai in the final of the Assam T20 Challengers Trophy at the Amingaon Cricket Ground in Guwahati on Friday. Brahmaputra Boys had finished as the runners-up in the previous season of the tournament and they will be determined to go one step higher on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Brahmaputra Boys had won eight matches out of the 10 they played in the league stage and had finished at the top of the points table. Dihing Patkai Riders, on the other hand, had won five out of their 10 matches to qualify for the semifinals.
When these two teams faced each other in the league stage, Brahmaputra Boys won three out of the four matches against Dihing Patkai Riders.
Brahmaputra Boys defeated Barak Bravehearts by 23 runs in the semifinal whereas Dihing Patkai Riders bested Subansiri Champs by 24 runs in the other semifinal.
Krishna Das scalped three wickets in the two overs he bowled in the semifinal and he was the team’s star performer. On the other hand, Swarupam Purkayastha, the Dihing Patkai Riders captain, snared three wickets in the semifinal against Subansiri Champs.
Match Prediction: Brahmaputra Boys will enter the contest as favorites against Dihing Patkai Riders.
