India will lock horns against New Zealand in the last group stage match of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Sunday. Both of these teams have already qualified for the semifinals after winning their first two matches Bangladesh and Pakistan.
However, this game’s result will decide who tops the group. New Zealand has troubled India in the major ICC events but the Men in Blue were able to beat the Kiwis in the semifinal of the 2023 World Cup.
India was able to register a six-wicket win against Pakistan in their last game and Virat Kohli looked at his absolute best after a long time. Kohli scored a match-winning century and he would look to carry the good show against the Kiwis.
Shubman Gill has also been in terrific form and he is going to hold the key at the top of the order, along with Rohit Sharma, who has failed to convert his starts in both games.
Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep Yadav were the stars of the show with the ball in the first two games against Bangladesh and Pakistan respectively. India could also think of playing Washington Sundar as New Zealand have five left-handers in their batting line-up.
On the other hand, New Zealand will be confident as three of their batters – Will Young, Tom Latham and Rachin Ravindra have scored centuries in the tournament.
