South Africa will square off against New Zealand in the second semifinal of the Champions Trophy at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Wednesday. Both of these teams won two matches each in the group stage but the Proteas are unbeaten in the tournament so far.
Meanwhile, New Zealand registered a comprehensive six-wicket win against South Africa at the same venue in the recent tri-series. The Kiwis were able to chase down 305 runs after Devon Conway and Kane Williamson scored 97 and 133 runs respectively.
The Lahore pitch is expected to be a batter’s paradise and both team’s batters would be licking their lips on this track. Ergo, it would be crucial for both teams to bowl at their best and restrict the opposition.
