Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders will face each other in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Delhi lost the first qualifier against Chennai Super Kings whereas Kolkata Knight Riders won the Eliminator against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
We take a look at Match Prediction on the basis of current form, head-to-head, stats, and players to watch out for in the upcoming match.
Current form for Delhi Capitals – L W W L L
Delhi Capitals could not finish the previous match against Chennai Super Kings. The previous season runners-up had their noses in front against CSK but MS Dhoni was able to turn the tables in the final two overs. DC has a potent bowling line-up but they would want more runs from Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer, who couldn’t get going in the last couple of matches.
Current form for Kolkata Knight Riders – W L W W W
KKR has been on a roll and they will aim to continue their good form. Their spin trio of Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, and Shakib Al Hasan has done a fine job for the team. Furthermore, the team’s batting unit has also picked form at the right time in the tournament. Thus, they are ticking the right boxes in the second phase.
Head to Head – 29, Won by DC – 13, Won by KKR – 15, A – 1.
It is quite even stevens in the head-to-head battle but KKR holds a slight advantage.
Players to watch out for: Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Anrich Nortje, and Kagiso Rabada will play an important role for DC.
Shubman Gill, Eoin Morgan, Varun Chakravarthy, and Sunil Narine will hold the key for KKR.
Match Prediction: It is expected to be a close encounter between these two teams but KKR might hold the advantage over DC as Sharjah pitch is expected to provide more assistance to the spinners.
