Chennai Super Kings have suffered a nightmare of a start in their IPL 2022 campaign. The defending champions have lost all but one of their games and they are lying second from bottom in the table. CSK have had several areas of concerns and the team hasn’t sparked into life under new captain Ravindra Jadeja.
Dwayne Bravo has had a long and illustrious career in the Indian Premier League. Bravo became the highest wicket-taker in IPL history, overtaking Lasith Malinga at the top of the table. Having donned the yellow jersey of CSK for most of it, he has seen plenty of ups and downs.
Bravo mentioned that despite CSK’s slow and dismal start to the season, they have enough resources to find their way back. The Caribbean all-rounder also added that having a supportive team management is an advantage during such tricky situations.
In the latest video posted by Chennai Super Kings on their social media channels, Bravo pointed out how the four-time IPL winners have started on a similar note in previous seasons. With that being said, he believes that it isn’t anything to worry about and the situation is under control. The squad enjoys the backing of the owners and the environment in the CSK camp is very positive.
“It’s not to say that this is the first time that we’ve been in a position like this. We know how to get out of it. That helps when you have management and owners who know off-the-field pressure.
“These things help a side that don’t have a good start because it can easily go haywire if it is a different franchise, where there are so many meetings, teams get divided and there’s outside pressure and noise. But with CSK there’s none of that,” said Bravo.
Having won just one of their six matches, CSK, being led by Ravindra Jadeja as the first full-time captain of the franchise except Mahendra Singh Dhoni, are languishing in the bottom half of the table. They are in a desperate situation and need a miraculous turnaround if they wish to make it to the playoffs this season.
Dwayne Bravo also highlighted the enormous support the franchise and the players receive from their loyal fanbase. “Our fans have continued to support us. I am not surprised with the Yellow that I am seeing because we have the most loyal fans and we know that CSK have never let you down. We need your support so continue to support us and it is always good to see yellow in the stands,” he further added.
