England will lock horns against India in the third T20I at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on Tuesday. The home team had taken a 1-0 lead in the series after winning the second game by four wickets. Harry Brook and Jacob Bethell were the star performers for the hosts, with the latter scoring a match-winning knock of 46-ball 76.
India were 10-15 runs short of a par score, but the two overs in their bowling innings were the turning point. Arshdeep Singh was taken for 27 runs in a single over of Powerplay by England skipper Harry Brook, whereas Ravi Bishnoi was smashed for 29 runs by Jacob Bethell in the 17th over.
Bishnoi conceded 60 runs in his quota of four overs, and he could be replaced by Prince Yadav in India’s playing XI. Yadav had made an impressive debut against Ireland as he had bagged 3-22 in his quota of four overs.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi didn’t have a great debut as he managed only 14 runs off 10 balls and the youngster will look to grab his opportunity with both hands. Sooryavanshi is expected to get a long rope, and he must be backed by the team’s think tank.
India hasn’t yet managed a single win under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy and the pressure is surely building on the newly appointed skipper.
England, on the other hand, would want to replicate their performance and keep India on the back foot.
