He could get Player of the Tournament – Steve Harmison makes big claim on Harry Brook

Former England fast bowler Steve Harmison has claimed that Harry Brook could get Player of the tournament in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Brook has been in top form in the recent past for the Three Lions. The youngster was roped in for a whopping amount of INR 13.25 crores by Sunrisers Hyderabad and this will be his debut season in the lucrative tournament.

The youngster has already hogged the limelight with his aggressive style of batting for the English team. The 24-year-old has scored 809 runs in six Test matches at an average of 80.9. Furthermore, he is scoring his runs at a strike rate of 98.78 in the red-ball version.

The Yorkshire lad has scored 372 runs in 20 T20I matches for the Three Lions at an average of 26.37. Moreover, he has scored his runs at a blistering strike rate of 148.68 in 99 games and has a century and nine fifties to his name.

“I think he might start with an orange cap as well. I think Harry Brooke is going to be the best player. I think he could get Player of the Tournament,” Harmison was quoted as saying by givemesport.

Meanwhile, SRH had roped in players like Adil Rashid, Heinrich Klaasen, Harry Brook, and Mayank Agarwal in IPL 2023 mini-auction. Harmison feels Brook will be the icing on the cake for the Orange Army.

“When you’re on a wave like he’s on, things just seem to fall into place. Sometimes they sort of nosedive and dive-bomb, but I don’t see it with Harry. For me, I think he might start with an orange cap because he’s in an orange kit,” he continued.

“I’ve got a funny feeling if he’s around for the whole series. The Sunrisers, I think they’ve done some decent business. I think they’ve got some decent business over the line. I think Brooke could be the icing on the cake for them and I think he might just score the runs,” Harmison added.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will open their IPL 2023 campaign against the previous season’s runners-up Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on April 2nd.
