Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli have been named in India’s squad for the three-match ODI series but the latter’s participation is subject to fitness clearance. Bumrah was rested from the recently concluded ODI series against Afghanistan whereas Kohli was ruled out with a hamstring injury, which he suffered in the IPL final against Gujarat Titans.
Axar Patel also returns to the ODI squad after missing the Afghanistan ODIs. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has not been named in India’s squad because of the quadriceps injury whereas Prince Yadav, Harsh Dubey, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have not retained their places.
Gurnoor Brar, who impressed one and all after taking seven wickets in three ODIs against Afghanistan, has been retained in India’s ODI squad. Harshit Rana has also returned to the ODI squad after recuperating from his injury.
Furthermore, BCCI revealed that mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been ruled out of the T20I series against Ireland due to his left foot injury.
India’s tour of England will begin with a five-match T20I leg starting on July 1. The three ODIs will be played on July 14 (Birmingham), July 16 (Cardiff) and July 19 (London, Lord’s).
