The Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel has named India’s 15-man squad for the three T20Is against Zimbabwe. Sanju Samson, who was dropped in the second T20I against England, has not found a place, whereas the selectors have given chances to a plethora of new players.
Rinku Singh and Mayank Yadav have returned to the team. The likes of Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, and Harsh Dubey have received their maiden T20I call-ups. Prabhsimran Singh, who was last part of the team in the Asian Games, has been added after impressive performances in the IPL. The PBKS opener had a 579-run season in 2025, and scored 510 runs from 14 games at an average of 42.50 and a strike rate of 168.87 in 2026.
Meanwhile, Ashok Sharma and Yash Thakur enjoyed a good run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, taking 22 and 18 wickets respectively. Harsh Dubey recently made his India debut in the ODI series against Afghanistan in June.
Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna have also been left out of the squad.
Moreover, Shivam Dube will replace Nitish Reddy in India’s squad for the ODIs against England. Reddy is currently recovering from a quadriceps injury.
The first T20I between India and Zimbabwe will be played on 23rd July, whereas the second and third games of the series will be played on 25th and 26th July, respectively, at the same venue.
