The All India National Selection Committee for the upcoming T20I series against Australia and South Africa. India will first play against Australia in a three-match T20I series and then will take on South Africa in three matches. This will be perfect preparation for the Rohit Sharma-led team ahead of the T20 World Cup, which is all set to begin in Australia in October.
India has picked a similar squad for these two series as they have done for the T20I showpiece. Mohammad Shami and Deepak Chahar, both part of the reserve players list for the T20 World Cup, have been included in the squad for the series against Australia and South Africa.
Arshdeep Singh is not picked for the series against Australia but he is part of the squad for the series against the Proteas. India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya and fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will play against Australia but they are not part of the series against South Africa.
Australia will play their three T20Is at Mohali (September 20), Nagpur (September 23), and Hyderabad (September 25). South Africa will start their tour with T20Is at Thiruvananthapuram (September 28), Guwahati (October 2) and Indore (October 4).
India will also take on South Africa in three-match ODI series and Shikhar Dhawan is expected to lead the team. The squad for this series will be announced later.
