The fourth and final Test match between India and Australia will be played at the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad from Thursday onwards. The visitors made a resounding comeback in the third Test match at Indore after winning by nine wickets.
The Steven Smith-led team came up with an inspiring bowling show on a rank-turner as Matthew Kuhnemann and Nathan Lyon made the most of the conditions.
While Kuhnemann returned with career-best figures of 5-16 in the first innings, Lyon roared to take 11 wickets in the game. Furthermore, Usman Khawaja had played an imperative knock of 60 runs to help his team take an 88-run lead. Moreover, Smith was spot-on as a leader in the third Test and he will continue to lead Australia in the absence of Pat Cummins.
India was bundled out for 109 runs after winning the toss in the first innings and it always required a miracle for them to bounce back into the match. The home team batters have disappointed as they haven’t been able to convert their starts into substantial scores.
Cheteshwar Pujara had played a gutsy knock of 59 runs in the second innings but the middle order needs to fire at all cylinders. India will need to win this Test in order to confirm their WTC Final qualification.
Match Prediction: Despite their loss in the third Test, India will still start as favorites against Australia.
