India will take on New Zealand in the second ODI in Raipur on Saturday. The home team had taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after winning the first game by 12 runs in a thrilling contest. The match had gone down to the wire after Michael Bracewell had played a blistering knock of 140 runs.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill became the youngest double centurion in the ODI format as he smashed a brilliant knock of 208 runs. Gill has been in sublime form for India and it is a big positive for the Men in Blue.
Furthermore, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav had done a fine job with the ball but India’s bowling was disappointing. The hosts had the visitors on the ropes at 131-6 in the run-chase of 350 runs but then the bowlers could not close out the match as Bracewell and Mitchell Santner added 162 runs for the seventh wicket.
Ergo, India will want to come up with a better bowling performance in Raipur. On the other hand, New Zealand’s top six could not get going and they will also aim to deliver the goods.
Rohit Sharma has been getting off to starts in the recent past and he will want to deliver a big score for the team against the Kiwis.
Match Prediction: With momentum on their side, India will enter the contest as slight favorites against New Zealand.
