Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has predicted Royal Challengers Bangalore to go all the way in the ongoing Tata Indian Premier League.
The veteran spinner feels RCB have the right players in their batting and bowling who can help them win their maiden IPL crown.
RCB had finished as runners-up on three occasions in 2009, 2011, and 2016 but they had failed to cross the final hurdle. In the last two seasons, RCB was knocked out in the Eliminator contest.
However, they were able to get over the line against Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday after Rajat Patidar played a magnificent knock of unbeaten 112 runs off just 54 balls. Thus, RCB might enter the contest as slightly favorites against Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier as they have the winning momentum on their side.
Harbhajan Singh said while talking to Sportskeeda, “This RCB team has very good players. When you see their batting line-up or bowling line-up, there are players who can win the trophy for them. I have a gut feeling that RCB will go all the way this season. And if they do, they’ll probably lift the cup.”
The Turbanataor believes RCB needs to come up with a collective effort against RR and it will be difficult to stop them as they are coming from behind.
“RCB need to continue having the faith and belief that they can do it. They have got the team. They just have to come and play like one unit. It will come down to the individuals – how badly they need it (victory). They need to approach it (Qualifier 2) as another game. Remember, they have come from behind and it is difficult to stop a team that has come from behind.”
Meanwhile, RCB had come up with a fine performance against Lucknow Super Giants as they had won by 14 runs. RCB will want their big players like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell to fire at all cylinders as the trio could not deliver the goods against LSG.
RCB will look to win the crucial stages of the match against RR and it will be interesting to note which team will come out on top.
