Sunrisers Hyderabad will begin their IPL 2022 against inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals in the fifth game of the tournament at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Tuesday.
Both of these teams had ended the previous season at the bottom of the points table and they will be looking to turn the tables in this new era of the IPL.
Rajasthan Royals were able to gather a potent bowling line-up as they were able to rope in players like Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Prasidh Krishna, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Yuzvendra Chahal. Thus, they have the bowlers who can take them far in the tournament and Sanju Samson will look to get the best out of them.
Rajasthan Royals will rely on Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler to lead their batting whereas they would want contributions from Shimron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Rassie van der Dussen and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad once again could not solve their batting issues in the IPL auction. The Orange Army was able to rope in players like Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, and Washington Sundar and they would hope that these players come to the party.
SRH has a slightly better bowling unit as they have bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik, and Shreyas Gopal. Kane Williamson is expected to open the innings with Abhishek Sharma and the New Zealander will look to lead from the front.
Match Prediction: Rajasthan Royals will enter the contest as favorites as they have a more balanced squad.
