Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against Mumbai Indians in the 65th match of the ongoing IPL 2026 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday. It will be a must-win game for KKR to keep their playoffs hopes alive, whereas Mumbai Indians were earlier knocked out of the tournament.
KKR registered a comprehensive 29-run win against Gujarat Titans in the last game after they posted an above-par score of 247 runs on the board. Finn Allen and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were the stars of the show and the in-form batting duo will once again hold the key for the three-time champions.
For KKR to qualify for the playoffs, they need to win their two final fixtures and hope PBKS drop their final game to LSG. Varun Chakravarthy bowled while limping against Gujarat Titans, and he hasn’t yet fully recovered from his injury.
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya, who has been dealing with a back injury, practiced with the team and he is likely to get back into the playing XI for Mumbai Indians.
MI haven’t been able to deliver as a unit in the ongoing season but registered a six-wicket win against PBKS in the last game. Tilak Varma played a mature knock in the previous game as he batted at the top of his game.
