Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has picked his best XI of IPL 2020, in which he didn’t pick RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Chopra picked Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan as the two openers.
Rahul scored 670 runs in 14 matches for KXIP and he finished as the highest run-getter of the season to bag the Orange Cap. Dhawan was the second highest run-getter as he has scored 618 runs in 17 matches at an average of 44.14 and a strike rate of 144.73.
Mumbai Indians Ishan Kishan bats at number three for the former Indian opener. Kishan scored 516 runs in 13 innings at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 145.76.
At number four, Chopra selected MI’s Suryakumar Yadav, who has scored 480 runs in 15 innings at an average of 40 and strike rate of 145.03. The former Delhi batsman picked AB de Villiers to bat at number five. AB scored 454 runs in 14 innings at an average of 45.40 and strike rate of 158.74.
Rajasthan Royals’ star Rahul Tewatia bats at number six for Aakash Chopra. Tewatia played two match winning knocks against Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal are the two spinners in the team for Chopra. Khan scalped 20 wickets in 16 matches for SRH and played a crucial role in the success of his team. Yuzvendra Chahal snared 21 wickets in 15 matches for RCB.
Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada and Jasprit Bumrah constitute the pace battery of the team. Archer was brilliant with the ball as he scalped 20 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 18.25.
Rabada bagged the Purple cap as he has scalped 30 wickets in 17 matches whereas Bumrah snared 27 wickets in 15 matches.
