Sunrisers Hyderabad pack leader Bhuvneshwar Kumar has heaped praise on Afghanistan’s leg-spinner and his teammate Rashid Khan. Kumar stated that Rashid is an asset to the franchise. Rashid Khan is the number one spinner in the shortest format of the game in the ICC T20I rankings and he has been instrumental in the success of the Orange Army.
The leg-spinner, who is currently playing for Barbados Tridents in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League has recently become the youngest and the fastest to the landmark of 300 T20 wickets. Rashid has bamboozled the best in the business and has delivered the goods.
The Afghanistan spinner has a quick arm action and it is not easy to pick him up. Rashid also bowls at a quick speed as compared to other spinners. Thus, he hardly gives time to the opposition batsman to pick up the length.
Rashid has played 46 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL in which he has scalped 55 wickets at an impressive average of 21.69. The 21-year old also concedes his runs at a fine economy rate of 6.55.
Rashid has a lot of variations under his belt, which helps him in flummoxing the batsman. Furthermore, he can provide the finishing touches with the bat.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar said while talking to the official IPL website, “Rashid has been amazing in this format all over the world. He has been playing in different leagues, performing consistently and having him in the mix is always a delight for any team. Not just with the ball, he has been amazing with the bat as well. So yes he is an asset to any team.”
Rashid Khan has currently scalped nine wickets in seven matches of the ongoing CPL 2020. The prodigy spinner will look to continue his good show going in the upcoming IPL.
Rashid has produced great numbers in the T20I format as he has snared 89 wickets in 48 matches at a majestic average of 12.63. The IPL is all set to begin from September 19 in the UAE and Rashid would aim to be at his best in the tournament. Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi will host all the matches of the tournament.
