Mumbai Indians ace paceman Trent Boult has provided an update on his availability for the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League 2021. Boult has revealed that he would like to finish off the campaign when it resumes in the third week of September.
Boult is a key part of Mumbai Indians and has been instrumental in the success of the team. The left-arm fast bowler mostly provides the early breakthroughs in the powerplay overs as he can get the ball to swing both ways. Furthermore, Boult was able to improve his death bowling in the first half of IPL 2021.
“Looks like it is moving forward to the UAE where it ran very nicely last year. So if I get the chance, I’ll be looking forward to finishing that campaign off nicely,” Boult said in a virtual press conference.“Looks like it is moving forward to the UAE where it ran very nicely last year. Boult also shed light on his experience of IPL 2021 in India during the testing time of Covid-19.
“It’s (India) a beautiful place to go, I obviously have experienced India a lot, the fans and culture too but it was different this time. Obviously very quiet, the usual hum around the streets, the fans were just not there,” Boult explained.
Meanwhile, Boult had made a potent pair with Jasprit Bumrah and both of them have done a fine job for the five-time champions. Boult had played a key role in Mumbai Indians’ triumph in IPL 2020 as he had scalped 25 wickets in 15 matches at an economy rate of 7.97.
The New Zealander was also at his best in IPL 2021 before the tournament was indefinitely postponed by BCCI. Boult snared eight wickets in seven matches of IPL 2021 at an economy rate of 8.46.
Boult has decided to skip the two Test matches against England and will be seen in action in the WTC final against India.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians had won four out of the seven matches they played in IPL 2021.
