Delhi Capitals will lock horns against Punjab Kings in the 32nd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Wednesday. Both of these teams had lost their respective previous matches and they will look to get back to winning ways.
Delhi Capitals were beaten against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 16 runs whereas Punjab Kings suffered a seven-wicket loss against Sunrises Hyderabad.
Delhi Capitals’ all-rounder Mitchell Marsh could not get a move on as he trudged to 14 off 24 balls. Marsh has now been hospitalized after testing positive for Covid-19 and the whole squad is under quarantine. Thus, it will be interesting to note if DC will be able to play the scheduled game. Meanwhile, David Warner had played a fine knock of 66 runs against RCB but the Delhi Capitals would want more from their middle-order.
On the other hand, Liam Livingstone has been in sublime form for Punjab Kings as he is scoring runs in all the matches. However, he isn’t receiving support from the top as well as the lower-middle order. Arshdeep Singh has been brilliant for Punjab Kings as he has conceded his runs at an economy of 5.25 in the death overs.
Mayank Agarwal had missed the previous match due to a toe injury and he is expected to get back in the final XI for PBKS. The Mohali-based franchise will want a better batting effort as they were skittled out for 151 runs against SRH.
Match Prediction: Delhi Capitals will enter the contest as favorites as they have a more balanced team.
Delhi Capitals Probable Playing XI: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mandeep Singh, Rishabh Pant (c and wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed.
PBKS Predicted Playing XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal (c), Jitesh Sharma (WK), Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow, Shahrukh Khan, Odean Smith, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh, Vaibhav Arora, Kagiso Rabada.
