Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will face off against runners-up Kolkata Knight Riders in the maiden match of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 26th March, the BCCI announced on Sunday. The two new teams Gujarat Lions and Lucknow Super Giants will take on each other at the same venue on 28th March.
The first doubleheader of the season will be played on 27th March. The afternoon match will be between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium while the evening match will be played between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be hosted at DY Patil Stadium.
The last league stage match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad on 22nd May. The final of the tournament will be played on 29th May. The schedule of playoff stages will be released later.
