Chennai Super Kings will be up against Punjab Kings in the 41st match of the ongoing season of IPL 2023 at their home ground of MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. CSK lost their previous match against Rajasthan Royals by 32 runs and they will be looking to get back to winning ways while playing at home.
CSK conceded 202 runs against Rajasthan Royals and they will look to come up with an improved bowling show against Punjab Kings. Furthermore, CSK’s batters were not at their absolute best against the inaugural champions. Thus, they will be looking to come up with a better show at their home venue.
In fact, CSK got off to a poor start in the Powerplay overs against RR with both bat and ball and they will want to pull up their socks.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings had also won their last game against Mumbai Indians by 13 runs (not considering their Friday match against Lucknow Super Giants). The Mohali-based franchise had posted a gargantuan score of 214 runs on the board against five-time champions and they will be looking to carry the good show with the bat.
Punjab is coming up with good batting performances and their bowlers will also look to stand up to the challenge.
Match Prediction: Chennai Super Kings will enter the contest as slightly favorites against Punjab Kings.
