Beleaguered Delhi Capitals will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the 28th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Thursday. The Capitals have got off to a torrid start, losing all of the five matches they have played and they will be looking to get on the board while facing KKR, a team against whom they have a 15-16 H2H record.
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, have won two out of the five matches they have played. KKR have lost their last two matches and they will be looking to get back to winning ways against Delhi Capitals.
Venkatesh Iyer had scored a majestic hundred in the last game against Mumbai Indians but his efforts had gone in vain. The left-hander had become only the second KKR player to score a century after Brendon McCullum had set the IPL on fire back in 2008 with his blitzkrieg knock of 158. Iyer would aim to continue the good show against struggling DC.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals haven’t been able to bat at their best. The David Warner-led team could not chase down 175 against RCB while playing at Chinnaswamy. Their top order has disappointed so far and they will quickly need to turn the tables.
Match Prediction: Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the contest as favorites against Delhi Capitals.
