Gujarat Titans will take on Punjab Kings at their home turf of Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Thursday. GT has won two out of the three matches they have played so far whereas Punjab Kings have won one out of the three games.
GT won their previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad convincingly by seven wickets and they will look to carry forward the winning impetus. Mohit Sharma, their experienced fast bowler, had delivered against the Orange Army, returning with 3-25 in his quota of four overs.
Moreover, the batters were able to get the 2022 champions over the line with Sai Sudharsan scoring 45 whereas David Miller added an unbeaten 44.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings lost their previous match against Lucknow Super Giants after speedster Mayank Yadav rattled their top and middle order. Shikhar Dhawan scored 70 whereas Jonny Bairstow added 42 but PBKS veered off the track in the run-chase of 200 despite their openers adding 102 runs.
Furthermore, the PBKS bowlers needs to come up with a collective show as they were expensive against LSG. Moreover, PBKS suffered a huge blow in the previous match as their power-hitter Liam Livingstone suffered a hamstring niggle while fielding. PBKS will hope that the English batter returns to action against GT as he holds the key in the middle order.
Match Prediction: Gujarat Titans will enter the contest as favorites against Punjab Kings.
