Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns against Mumbai Indians in the 48th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Tuesday. LSG has won five out of their nine matches whereas MI is struggling with three wins in nine games.
Both of these teams lost their respective previous game and they will look to return to winning ways. LSG suffered a seven-wicket loss against RR despite putting 196 runs on the board. The KL Rahul-led team needs to go a bit harder in the middle overs.
Rahul scored a fine knock of 76 whereas Deepak Hooda scored 50 but they could only manage 36 runs in the last five overs, which led to their downfall.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians’ woes have manifolded as the season has progressed. They suffered a 10-run loss against Delhi Capitals in the last game and will have to win everything from here to keep their playoffs dream alive.
MI skipper Hardik Pandya admitted they should have attacked a bit more in the middle overs against DC to chase down the gargantuan total of 258 runs. MI will want more consistency from Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav. Furthermore, barring Jasprit Bumrah, their bowling unit has looked clueless.
Match Prediction: Lucknow Super Giants will enter the contest as favorites against Mumbai Indians.
