Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 55th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Monday. It has been a horrid season for the five-time champions as they have managed only three wins out of the 11 games they have played.
Nothing has gone right for the Hardik Pandya-led team in the ongoing season and they will be looking to end their tournament on a high. MI should have chased down 170 runs in their previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders but they were skittled out for 145.
MI’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs are hanging by a thin thread and they will need nothing short of a miracle to make it to the last four. Hardik Pandya needs to lead from the front, which he hasn’t done so far in the competition.
On the other hand, after losing two consecutive matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad got the much-needed win against Rajasthan Royals. The Orange Army won the thrilling contest by one run with Bhuvneshwar Kumar successfully defending two runs off the final ball against Rovman Powell.
Nitish Kumar Reddy continued to impress as he scored a fine knock of 76 runs against RR and he has been the find of the season for SRH.
Match Prediction: Sunrisers Hyderabad will enter the contest as favorites against Mumbai Indians.
