Punjab Kings will be up against Chennai Super Kings in the 53rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on Sunday in a day game. PBKS have had their wood on Chennai Super Kings as they have bested them in their last five meetings and they will be looking to replicate the same domination.
Chennai came up with a placid batting approach as they could only manage 162 runs on the board against PBKS in the last game. The reigning champions will need to take the bull by its horns and their batters must lead from the front. Moreover, the team’s injury woes have manifolded with Tushar Deshpande, Matheesha Pathirana and Deepak Chahar injured.
On the other hand, PBKS spinners – Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar – were at their best in the last game against CSK.
Stats Preview:
Liam Livingstone needs 61 runs to complete 1000 runs in the tournament.
PBKS vice-captain Jitesh Sharma needs nine more sixes to complete 50 maximums in the lucrative tournament.
CSK former skipper MS Dhoni needs two more sixes to become the fifth batter after Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma, and AB de Villiers to hit 250 or more sixes in the IPL.
Moeen Ali needs 11 fours to complete 100 boundaries in the IPL.
Shivam Dube needs one six to complete 100 maximums in the IPL. The in-form left-hander needs 44 runs to reach the 1500-run mark.
