Punjab Kings will lock horns against Gujarat Titans at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh in the 37th match of Indian Premier League 2024 on Sunday. When these two teams met earlier in the season, PBKS registered a thrilling three-wicket win after Shashank Singh played a match-winning knock of 61 runs.
However, after winning that game, PBKS have suffered three losses on the bounce and more disappointingly they have lost close games. Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma have been the biggest positives for the Mohali-based franchise as these two batters have grabbed their chances with both hands.
Ashutosh gave more than a glimmer of hope to PBKS in their last game against Mumbai Indians. At 111-7, the target of 193 looked like a speck on the horizon but Sharma’s blistering knock of 61 helped PBKS get close to the total.
PBKS top-order has failed to deliver and Singh and Sharma have been the two standout batters for their team.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans could not deliver with the bat against Delhi Capitals as they were bundled out for a paltry score of 89 runs, which is their lowest score in the IPL. Ergo, they need to come up with a better batting show against PBKS to return to winning ways.
Match Prediction: Gujarat Titans will enter the contest as favorites against Punjab Kings.
