Punjab Kings will lock horns against Rajasthan Royals in the 27th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Saturday.
Both of these teams lost their respective last matches and they will look to return to winning ways. PBKS have found new heroes in Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma. The right-handed batting duo has provided a new leash of life to PBKS’ lower middle order with their blistering batting.
In fact, the pair almost got PBKS over the line in the run-chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, PBKS will want more from their top-order as the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow have failed to deliver the goods.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals should have defended their 197 against Gujarat Titans. RR bowlers could not defend 35 runs in the last two overs against Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan and they need to come up with a better bowling show.
However, there were positives too for the inaugural champions as Riyan Parag continued his good form, scoring 76. Furthermore, Sanju Samson has been leading from the front as he scored a fine knock of 68 runs against GT.
Match Prediction: Rajasthan Royals will enter the contest as favorites against Punjab Kings.
