Rajasthan Royals will lock horns against Punjab Kings in the 65th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati on Wednesday. The inaugural champions have certainly veered off the track as they have lost their last three matches and they will want to get back to winning ways.
Furthermore, a win will confirm the playoffs spot for the Sanju Samson-led team. RR could only manage 141 runs on the board against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the last game as they came up with a timid batting approach on a slow pitch.
Ergo, RR needs to take the bull by its horns and come out firing against Punjab Kings, especially with the bat. Moreover, Jos Buttler has left the squad and will not take any further part in the tournament, which is a big blow for the franchise.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings have already been knocked out of the tournament. PBKS lost their previous match against RCB by a huge margin of 60 runs. They conceded a huge score of 241 runs and they need to pull up their socks with the ball.
Sam Curran will be available for the match whereas Liam Livingstone has left the team to get his knee sorted for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Match Prediction: Rajasthan Royals will enter the contest as favorites against Punjab Kings.
