IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians – Match Preview

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians is always a big contest in the IPL. The two most successful teams in the history of the tournament, with five titles each, will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Sunday.

CSK has a plethora of all-rounders in their squad with players like Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rachin Ravindra, Shivam Dube, Jamie Overton, and Sam Curran. The Men in Yellow are known to make the most of their resources and they would once again look to start the campaign on a high after they could not qualify for the playoffs in the previous season.

Speaking of the last edition, Mumbai Indians finished the tournament as cellar-dwellers, a term that we hardly associate with a team like Mumbai. Hardik Pandya, who has definitely won the hearts of the Mumbai crowd, will definitely receive backing from the fans after he was booed in IPL 2024. Pandya, however, will miss the opening game against CSK due to a slow over-rate offense and in his place Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team.

Head to Head: Matches: 37, Won by CSK: 20, Won by MI: 17.
