Lucknow Super Giants will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 59th match of the ongoing IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Friday.
This will be a must-win contest for LSG if they have to stay alive in the playoff race. LSG has lost their last three games and they can’t afford to veer off the track at this crucial phase of the tournament.
LSG top three batters had done the bulk of the scoring in the first phase of the tournament but they have not been consistent enough in the last few games. Rishabh Pant’s form is also a matter of concern for the team as the LSG captain has failed to lead from the front.
On the other hand, a win for Royal Challengers Bengaluru will help them qualify for the playoffs. RCB have ticked the right boxes with both bat and ball and they would look to carry the winning impetus.
Phil Salt and Josh Hazlewood had missed the last couple of matches for the Bengaluru-based franchise and they might return to the playing XI.
