IPL 2025: Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Match Preview

Punjab Kings will lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 31st match of the ongoing IPL 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Tuesday. While KKR has managed three wins and as many losses, PBKS have managed three wins in five games.

As we inch closer to the mid-season, both of these teams would want to come up with more consistent performances. KKR registered a thumping win against CSK in the last game as they came up with an impressive bowling show to skittle out the opposition for a cheap score. The defending champions would look to get their batting order right as they have a lot of depth.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings posted a gargantuan score of 245 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous game but their bowlers could not defend it after Abhishek Sharma played a magnificent knock of 141 runs.

Furthermore, bowling coach James Hopes has revealed that Lockie Ferguson is all but ruled out of the tournament due to injury.

“Ferguson is out indefinitely, and the chances of us getting him back by the end of the tournament are very slim, I would have thought,” Hopes said ahead of PBKS’ match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Mullanpur on Tuesday. “I think he has sustained a pretty serious injury.”
