Kolkata Knight Riders will face high-flying Gujarat Titans in the 60th match of the ongoing IPL 2026 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Saturday. It will be a must-win contest for KKR whereas GT would look to carry their winning impetus after winning five on the bounce.
KKR posted a decent total of 192 runs against RCB in the last game but their bowling unit could not defend it. Varun Chakravarthy missed the previous match due to a niggle and KKR would hope that the mystery spinner recovers for the do-or-die game.
The three-time champions can also think of adding Matheesha Pathirana to their playing XI, to solve their death-bowling woes. Pathirana is yet to play a game for KKR after he was bought for a huge amount of INR 18 crores in the mini-auction.
Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, have ticked all the right boxes in the last five games. Washington Sundar has delivered in the middle order whereas Jason Holder has done everything right since he has been added to the playing XI. Holder has scalped 13 wickets in six matches and has been a huge positive for GT in the middle overs.
Furthermore, Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada have done a phenomenal job with the new ball.
