Kolkata Knight Riders will play their second match of IPL 2026 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Thursday. Both of these teams had lost their respective opening matches and would want to bounce back strongly.
KKR and SRH could not defend their target despite putting more than 200 runs on the board against MI and RCB respectively. Ergo, both teams must pull up their socks with the ball in their second game of the tournament.
Momentum is the most important thing in T20 cricket and both SRH and KKR would want to get the confidence under their belt.
KKR could not defend the target of 221 against MI and they would want to come up with an improved show. Ajinkya Rahane had played a decent knock of 67 in the previous match but the KKR skipper will want to carry the aggressive approach after the Powerplay overs.
On the other hand, SRH would want more from their top order. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head had failed to deliver in the tournament’s opener against RCB. Furthermore, Ishan Kishan will need to be spot on as a leader to get the best out of a beleaguered bowling line-up.
Head to Head: Matches: 30, Won by KKR: 20, Won by SRH: 10.
