Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Lucknow Super Giants in the 47th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Monday. Mumbai Indians are all but out of the playoff race whereas things aren’t looking pretty for Lucknow Super Giants either.
Both of these teams are placed at the bottom of the points table and they need to win all of their remaining games to stand an outside chance of making it to the last four.
MI has a potent team but they haven’t been able to execute their plans one bit. They have looked deflated, and the big names have failed to live up to the expectations. The five-time champions haven’t clicked as a unit with the bat whereas their bowlers have also let them down.
MI is known to bounce back in the second phase of the IPL, but it might be too late now for them to make any sort of a comeback.
On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants are also sinking in the same boat as the Mumbai Indians. Their top batters – Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant, and Nicholas Pooran – have failed to deliver the goods. While their bowling unit has done a decent job but their batters haven’t been able to back the good work.
