Rajasthan Royals will lock horns against Chennai Super Kings at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati on Monday. The first two games of IPL 2026 have been run-fest and it is expected to be another high run-scoring game.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be the cynosure of all eyes after he had a dream season last year. Furthermore, the youngster was able to carry his rich form in the Under-19 World Cup.
Meanwhile, after Sanju Samson’s trade, Riyan Parag will take over the captaincy onus for the full season. Parag has been backed by RR’s think tank in the last six years as a batter and he would look to hit the straps as a leader. The Assam batter took some time to find his feet as a batter in the IPL however he would want to hit the ground running as a skipper.
RR has a decent bowling line-up as they have bowlers like Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi and Parag would look to make the most of his resources.
RR’s batting is in young hands and the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel would aim to deliver consistently.
On the other hand, CSK veteran MS Dhoni has been ruled out of the two weeks due to calf strain and his guile would certainly be missed on the field. CSK had ended the previous season as cellar-dwellers and they would want to turn the tables. The five-time champions definitely lack resources with the ball and their death bowling will be a cause of concern for the team.
